“We have a message right now for Montreallers 55 and over: get vaccinated!” Jean-Nicholas Abe, spokesman for the Center for Sud-de-El-de-Montreal’s Integrated University Health and Social Services Center (CIUSSS), said Saturday afternoon.
“Right now, the person who comes can be vaccinated immediately, there is no queue,” he said, adding that the weather means fewer people are being vaccinated. Vaccinations are performed from the beginning of the day.
“The virus has not taken a break, we’re in a pandemic,” Mr Abe added to persuade people 55 and older to get vaccinated.
The Palais des Congress de Montreal has the capacity to vaccinate 3,000 people per day, specifically, the vaccine from Pfizer / BioMtech, but in this case by appointment.
In Boucherville, early Saturday, the situation was very different, as people 55 and older had set up a line several hundred meters to obtain a valuable coupon for vaccinations at the Francine-Godboys Multifunctional Center. Some even brought a folding chair, knowing the wait.
