The new intensive care unit at Granby Hospital was inaugurated Monday morning by Minister Franకోois Bonnardel, who is in charge of the Estre area, but without the mayor of the municipality, Pascal Bonin.
The latter is not on the guest list and, according to him, is due to his recent positions against CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS.
Disappointed and angry, he said, “I was advised last week that I was not welcome on the site. When I repeatedly called for a COVID screening clinic in Grosby since last fall, I was convinced that CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS was not in good grace. Recently, I asked the Health Network to apologize for another horror story at DPJ and it was not appreciated. CIUSSS de l’Estrie I want to be quiet, but I will never stop defending the interests of my population, ”Bonin told TVA Novelles on Monday.
The new intensive care unit, which can accommodate up to eight patients as of Wednesday, is four times larger than the old one and is equipped with new equipment at a cost of 3 10.3 million. Much of the donations from the community were paid for through subsequent fundraising campaigns.
“This is the time we went. It will be more comfortable for patients, more humane and better suited to the staff,” the doctor exclaimed.r Mark-Antoine Reward.
Respect for distance above all else
When asked about the mayor’s absence from the inauguration at Granby Hospital, Minister Bonnardell explained that the lack of space due to COVID – 19 was the only reason for the inconvenience and that the city was actually invited to attend the announcement.
“When I saw a minister telling my citizens that I was not here because of threats and lack of space, there were still limits to what a minister could say bullshit. I did not say anything to Mr. Bonnardell this morning. They did not want to see me when they were holding ume,” replied Pascal Bonin. .
