When American actress and director Olivia Wilde received a mysterious envelope on stage in Las Vegas showing her next film, many in the crowded room thought it was a staging item for a joke.
In fact, she is receiving legal documents sent by her ex-partner Jason Sudekis.
“This is for me, right?” The actress was interrupted when she unveiled footage from her upcoming thriller “Don’t Worry Darling” at CinemaCon on Tuesday.
“It simply came to our notice then. I will open it now, ”she added. The envelope unknown, marked “Personal and confidential,” quietly slipped into the scene.
- Listen to the cultural history of Anaïs Guertain-Lacroix on QUB Radio:
“Is this a script? OK that makes sense. Thank you, ”the actress asked, looking at the contents of the envelope. With no mention of this cover she resumed her presentation without any interruption and many felt that it was about a new project aired to Olivia Wilde.
However, it was revealed on Wednesday that the envelope actually contained legal documents relating to two children with the ex-boyfriend of television comedy “Ted Lasso” star Jason Sudekis.
“Papers have been prepared to establish jurisdiction over the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis,” a source close to Jason Sudeikis told AFP on Wednesday.
“Mr. Sudekis does not know where and when this envelope will be delivered, as it is the sole responsibility of the company involved and he will never tolerate such inappropriate delivery of documents to her,” the source said.
No response was available from Olivia Wild representatives.
“Don’t Worry Darling” is a psychological thriller inspired by the “Truman Show” and “Inception”, starring Olivia Wilde’s current boyfriend, British singer and actor Harry Styles.
