Russia accuses Ukraine of ‘nuclear terrorism’.

Russia on Friday denied responsibility for attacks near a nuclear reactor in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia, accusing the regime of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of “nuclear terrorism”.

“Ukrainian armed formations carried out three artillery strikes on the territory of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar,” the Russian military said in a statement, “calling on international organizations to condemn the actions of the Zelensky regime. Nuclear terrorism”.

Ukraine on Friday accused the Russians of an attack near a nuclear reactor at the plant, which Russian forces took over in March, shortly after Moscow launched an attack on its Ukrainian neighbor on February 24.

The attack damaged a high-voltage line, shutting down one of the plant’s reactors, Europe’s largest, according to Energotam, the Ukrainian state company that operates the country’s nuclear power plants.

For its part, the Russian military claimed that “Ukrainian shells” damaged a hydrogen pipe at the plant, causing the hydrogen fire to be quickly contained.

“Fortunately, the Ukrainian shells did not target the nearby oxygen plant (…), preventing a major fire and a radioactive hazard. Produce”, the Russian press release assured.

The same source said the Ukrainian strikes caused power outages and disrupted water supplies at Energodar.
