“I trained without serving for a while and started serving again four days ago. Everything is fine, but yesterday, after a normal practice, I felt a little discomfort in the abdominal area and today it is the same,” Rafael Nadal said in a statement.

“After speaking with my doctor, we prefer to be conservative and give my body a few more days before returning to competition. I want to thank Eugene, the tournament director and his entire team for understanding and supporting me in this decision. It’s very sad not to be able to come to Montreal. It’s me A tournament that I have won five times and I love to play in. I sincerely hope to come back to the tournament to play in front of the crowd, which is always fantastic.
