The Weeknd abruptly canceled his concert in Los Angeles on Saturday night due to vocal issues.
Canadian singer-songwriter Sophie was singing Can’t Feel My Face at the stadium when he suddenly stopped the show and walked off the stage.
After a while, he returned and announced that he had lost his voice.
“I can’t give you the gig I want to give you right now. I’m going to make sure everything goes well so you get your money back and I’ll do a show for you soon, but I want to apologize in person, not on Twitter or Instagram,” he announced.
I just wanted you to know that I can’t give you what I want to give you. I apologize. I’m really sorry. You know how much it kills me. i love you Thank you very much.”
Later, he released a statement on his Twitter page and once again apologized to his fans. “During the first song my voice died and I was devastated. I thought she was gone and my heart sank, the 32-year-old star wrote. My sincere apologies to the fans here. I promise to meet you with a new date.
The news comes after The Weeknd had to cancel a concert in his hometown of Toronto last month due to internet and phone network outages. The concert was postponed to September 22 as part of his After Hours Till Dawn tour.
