“It’s him [Yvon Charest] The burden of making this thing a reality has been put on her shoulders. He cares a lot about it. He is fully committed to it. He has our full confidence to do so,” the federal Liberal minister said on Tuesday.

On September 30, the Quebec government substantially renewed its bridge lease with Canadian National. Mr. Charest predicted. At the same time, he confirmed that his mandate as negotiator will continue till January 31, 2023.

“He is [M. Charest] More confident about the future than a few weeks ago,” added Mr. Duclos.

During the recent Quebec election campaign, Yvonne Charest made two prominent public appearances on the file. He implored the Legault government to stop “playing petty politics” and revealed that the costs of maintaining the Quebec bridge would be the same as the cost of tearing it down.
