A nurse amputates a dying person's foot to save it

A nurse in Wisconsin, USA, has been accused of cutting off a dying man’s foot to keep in her family’s taxidermy shop.

On May 27 Mary K. Brown, 38, amputated the victim’s feet – without her consent or a doctor’s order.

According to official documents obtained by the chain “WQOW,” another nurse indicated that the amputation was poorly performed. Brown told her he wanted to show her feet with a sign that read, “Put on your shoes, kids.”

The victim was admitted to Valley Health and Rehab Center in Spring Valley last March with severe frostbite on both her feet. By the end of May, doctors believed the man was dying and his foot showed signs of necrosis.

During the facts, the man moaned in pain, a witness told police.

According to court documents, the man told a nurse he had been through everything and was in agony.

When officers met her, Mary K. Brown stated that the victim’s limb had been amputated so that she would be more comfortable.

Ms. Brown no longer works there, according to a statement given to the “WQOW” channel by Care Facility Director Kevin Larson.

Mary K. Brown is now facing charges of physical abuse of an elderly person with intent to cause serious bodily harm. She faces up to 40 years in prison and is scheduled to appear in court again on December 6.
