“There are hundreds of doses every day without an appointment at the convention center. Therefore, I invite people who do not have the time and priority to make an appointment, ”said CIUSSS Center-Sud-de-L-de-Montreal in an interview with LCN, CEO of Sonia Belanger.

“In addition to tomorrow morning, to celebrate the fact that we are open without an appointment, we have a young singer-songwriter who will be with us to establish a little atmosphere,” she said.

According to Ms Belanger, 500 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine will be available at the walk-in clinic on Thursday.

Other vaccination sites will open similar clinics in the coming days.

Hold on

In addition, the CEO of the CIUSSS Center-sud-de-l-di-Montreal indicated that she had mobilized teams to see if Montreal could be vaccinated.

The vaccination rate in the metropolis is currently only 36%, compared to 44% overall in Quebec.

“Compared to other major cities in the world, Montreal is ahead. We got off to a good start with the vaccine campaign,” Sonia Belanger explained.

She noted that the region had received a five-week “dose less than population weight” to help areas of Quebec, Chowder-Appalachచs or Autouస్s struggling with the strong spread of COVID-19.

Ms Belanger wants to rebalance vaccination rates between different neighborhoods in the city.

“We are intensifying our mobile clinics throughout Montreal. We have a brigade of about 1000 (…) people who are trained to talk to people and go from house to house,” she said.

Mobile units such as buses or trucks should be deployed soon in the city.
