Head coach Martin St-Louis made the announcement early Monday, as the organization began its traditional golf tournament for the new season.

At 23, Suzuki became the youngest captain in the franchise’s history.

No one wore the “C” last season. Shea Weber is still the captain, but injuries have kept him out of the club’s entourage. General manager Kent Hughes has already warned that a new captain will be appointed this season. The suspense did not last long.
