Collins asks Trump to stop – Entertainment News

Phil Collins has joined the growing list of musicians, demanding that Donald Trump’s campaign executives stop playing their music at his rallies.

Collins was unhappy with the use of his In the Air Tonight hit in political events and he withdrew one song and appealed to Trump’s musicians to choose another song.

The 1981 song was played Wednesday (14Oct20) at a rally in Des Moines, Iowa, and Phil smoked.

Representatives of Genesis Frontman confirmed that they had issued the order: “We are well aware of the Trump campaign for this song and we have already issued a retirement and retirement letter through our attorneys who will continue to monitor the situation.”

Collins Neil Young, Dexis Midnight Runners, Panic! At The Disco, the estate of Rolling Stones, Linkin Park and Tom Petty, the president and his team were asked to refrain from using their music at re-election campaign rallies.

Young wrote: “Imagine what it would be like to hear Rockin in the free world after this president has spoken. It’s like his theme song. I did not write for it.”
