Conservatives have no office, says François Legault

Despite repeated requests from leader Eric Duhaime and the new support of the Parti Québécois (PQ), François Legault did not intend to grant access to resources from the National Assembly to the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ).

“The National Assembly is reserved for elected people and in Quebec there are only 125 and in every county in Quebec, the way it works, the citizens decide who is going to be my representative,” the prime minister said. An interview with host Paul Larocque.

Asked on October 3 about his intention to offer the office to a party that had not elected any deputy, François Legault replied that he “doesn’t see how the rules can be changed in the middle of the game”.

The head of the CAQ, however, intends to listen to Eric Duhaime’s proposals.

“Among other things, when we talk about the capacity of the state, I think Eric has things to say and we listen to him,” said Francois Legault.

Regarding the press briefings, “Across the street, there is a planned site and […] They can hold as many press briefings as they want next to journalists’ offices”.
