“Most of the time, they’re in a warehouse, so a museum would be ideal,” Mirel Harvey agreed.

While waiting for the arrival of that day, the 23-year-old presented us with her four-and-a-half tour that looked like an exhibition the day before Halloween.

The clowns who cover the walls – both good and bad – give many a nightmare.

“We’re so used to seeing them, we can not notice them anymore,” said the collector, passing through the bloody head of a clown hanging near the wedding bed.

From her top 4 feet 7 inches (140 cm), Mirel Harvey first presents us with an intimidating animated clown with more than three heads.

Her little girl in her arms, she presses a button and the bad pattern starts moving in his kitchen, making threats. Looking at him, 11-month-old Malivi smiles like a baby.

“I don’t drive often without damaging it, but it’s fun to watch it move,” her mother said with a smile.

As always

Mireille Harvey’s mother gave her her first clown at the age of seven and she has continued to improve her collection ever since.

While her first purchases took place in flea markets, enthusiasts now make purchases mainly online or in department stores.

“By definition, collectors have no limits, we always want more,” she says, adding that she hopes to have 7,000 pieces by the end of her collection.

There is no shortage of clowns to achieve this goal.

One need only look at its shelves to realize how ubiquitous and long-lived they are in popular culture.

Patof et Krusty

The collection includes items featuring Patoff as well as Krusty, the Stephen King character or the Ronald McDonald effigy.

“He, my partner said it was so horrible,” Mrs. Harvey laughs.

Beyond toys, his collection includes trinkets, posters, stuffed animals, vinyl records, masks … in short, anything that represents a clown.

For his part, the collector accepted the fan on the huge animated clowns, which cost $ 300 each.

On Halloween, she was disappointed to see so many people in her neighborhood due to bad weather.

“For me these are collector items. They don’t deserve to fall in the rain! », She begged to be presented with a place where her family could be fully appreciated one day.
