There were 434 new COVID-19 cases and eight additional deaths in Quebec on Friday.
434 new cases brought the seven-day average to 469. The downward trend in a week is 17%.
Although another eight deaths occurred, the average was four per day. This trend is stable for a week.
260 people were hospitalized, including 68 in intensive care. This is a reduction of 14 patients admitted to the hospital and four cases in intensive care since Thursday.
Hospital admissions have been greatly reduced over the past week or so. The 260 people admitted to the hospital indicated a 41% decrease in a week, a 14% decrease.
The total number of eight additional deaths reported on Friday since the outbreak began has risen to 11,466.
The number of samples taken on Wednesday was 28,997, which is lower than the previous day (32,289 Tuesday).
Prior to the vaccination campaign, 15,038 additional doses were given, up from the previous estimate of 14,367 in the last 24 hours and 671 before Thursday, bringing the total dose to 13,146,542 in Quebec. Outside the province, 13,358,006 doses have been delivered to Quebec residents to date, including 211 464 doses.
