Prior to the draw, Felix Agar-Aliassim was cautious in the first round against Emil Rusuvori of Finland. He was right to be in his defense.

He had his hand full from Monday to Tuesday night, but he managed to win five sets (6-4, 0-6, 3-6, 6-3 and 6-4).
After the toughest first round of the Australian Open, “FAA” suffered a bad patch in the next two. In the process, Rusuvori (ranked 90th in the world) won seven games in a row. All he hit became winners.
Trailing 2-1 in sets, Fred Fontang’s protg was calm. He came to work. Agar-aliasim found his first service ball on the way. When she’s not in Rendezvous, it’s hard for a 21 – year – old athlete to impose a rhythm of exchanges.
“It’s not an easy day,” Kubeser explained. I believe the scores demonstrate this well. ⁇
“Over the last few days we have had to negotiate different situations. It was cold and windy. I had to adapt, he added. On the other hand, my opponent played an excellent match. I always looked up to him with great respect. He was a good player and he showed it. ⁇
Pushed from all sides
In a duel, Rusuvori destabilized the “FAA” with his forehand. He was able to keep the pressure on the ninth rocket in the world steady.
“He forced me to review my strategy many times during the match because he was playing so well,” Agar-aliasim admitted.
Sometimes first round matches are like this. In the end, all the matches were tough and I was happy to find a way to win. ⁇
The ninth favorite also lacks opportunism in some cases. He converted just four of his 17 break points to a 24% save rate. By making the most of his opportunities, he is able to break Rusuvuri’s confidence at crucial times.
He continued his focus despite facing a storm in the second and third innings. In the distant past, Agar-aliasim had little control over his emotions. He was able to escape victory.
There is no perfection
A player rarely plays accurate games during the season. Auger-Aliassime confirms this.
“In a great season, you get five, there can be a maximum of ten. So the majority duel can go either way. Against the fee, it was very difficult for me. ⁇
“In the middle of the game, I could not find a way to play well,” he continued. Then I started playing more relaxed. I started to serve better and move my opponent more. ⁇
On Wednesday evening, Agar-Aliasim, the 51st player in the world, will face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain.
