Parkland buys M&M meat stores

The Ontario Frozen Meal Company has announced that it has swallowed up the Alberta Convenience Store and gas station giant Parkland Corporation M&M Meat Shops.

By doing so, the Calgary-based fuel distributor will receive over 300 stores and more than 2,000 M&M Express outlets, in addition to being able to get your teeth into more than 500 frozen food recipes.

This transaction is a key turning point for both companies. In the case of Parkland, Ian White, Senior Vice President, Strategic Marketing and Innovation, explains that this is one way to enhance the food offer in all its markets.

“M&M allows us to offer new restaurant-quality food options that complement our existing fast-service restaurants in food preparation, national store network and menu development. We plan to increase this capacity in all our operating regions, ”explained Parkland Senior Executive.

For M&M, the deal marks the end of a strategic restoration, under which the Mississauga-based company has restored its brand image and changed its stores.

The M&M brand is here, just like the franchise network, the company guarantees.

Parkland is located in Canada, the United States and elsewhere in the Americas and the Caribbean. In Quebec, it features the Ultramar banner in particular, which was restored in 2016 after purchasing the CST brand through Couche-Tard.

Especially under the Competition Act, once the powers have been obtained, the transaction in the first quarter of 2022 will be officially closed without disclosing its entirety.
