Fire and Burn Hazard: Be careful with the battery of this Dyson device

Replacement batteries for Dyson V6 series vacuum cleaners pose a fire and burn hazard and should no longer be used.

FirstPower 4000mAh V6 batteries sold on Amazon.ca are affected. The defective products were found in two lots sold in Canada between January 2022 and April 2022: lot number PO2111150260 and lot number PO2111120226.

Affected product may overheat, causing a fire and burn hazard.

“Stop using the product immediately and dispose of lithium-ion batteries by contacting your municipality for instructions on how to safely transport and dispose of them,” warns Health Canada.

The battery manufacturer claims that the product is compatible with Dyson V6 series vacuum cleaners SV04, DC58, DC59, DC61, DC62, DC72, DC74, Absolute Animal Motorhead Slim, SV03, SV04, SV05, SV06, SV06, SV907. FirstPower batteries are not Dyson products or authorized by Dyson.

The Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) for this product is B085RSLXK1.

Batteries are considered hazardous waste. The agency was reminded not to throw them in household waste.
