Honda is recalling approximately 761,000 vehicles worldwide to replace defective fuel pumps. This campaign is not the first of Japanese manufacturers to address this issue.
It has 628,000 Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the United States, as well as 80,176 units in circulation in Canada. Honda is unaware of the accidents or injuries associated with this issue.
This recent recall includes Honda and Acura models from 2019 and in some cases even 2020s. At Acura, we are talking about ILX, MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX and TLX products. For Honda, the Accord (including hybrid), Civic (C and Type R models including coupe, sedan and hatchback), Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline pickup truck will be affected. Finally, some 2018 and 2019 CR-V models will also be affected.

One year ago, Honda issued fuel pump recalls for 136,057 vehicles (10,456 in Canada) in the United States, some of which overlap with the current recall. In 2019, the two separate recalls have more than half a million models for other fuel pump issues, although it is unclear whether these two issues are related.
On his site, Transport Canada Describes the situation experienced by owners as follows: “On some vehicles, a low pressure fuel pump may fail. If this happens, the engine may not run or start unintentionally and the check engine light may come on. It is possible to suddenly lose engine power while driving. “
The company adds that “the manufacturer must notify the owners by mail and request that their vehicle be taken to a dealership to replace the fuel pump motor. “
