Correctional Service Canada (CSC) announced on Friday that visitors to federal prisons must provide proof of a full COVID-19 vaccine by November 15.

Those with medical or religious objections will be able to access the facility after submitting their waiver prior to their visit as well as after proving a negative result on the COVID-19 screening test.
“Canada’s Correctional Service has done an excellent job of ensuring the safety of prisoners and staff in difficult situations throughout the epidemic.
The new directive follows a mandatory employee vaccination policy released on October 6. For prisoners, the SCC launched their vaccinations in January. As of Saturday, 80% of the inmates were fully immunized and 85% had received the dose.
