Large prevalence in CHSLD on the north coast

The spread of COVID-19 has severely affected CHSLD des Bergeronnes in Hot-Cote-Nord, where almost all residents, as well as many employees, have been infected.

However, since the outbreak, CHSLD residents in C -te d’Ivoire have escaped COVID-19. But in a few weeks the situation changed drastically.

In CHSLD des Bergeronnes, 24 out of 26 residents became infected within a few days. Measures such as disinfecting the floors more frequently, wearing an N-95 mask and isolating the affected occupants were taken.

Fortunately, most of them got their 3rd dose. According to the CISSS de la Côte-Nord they currently do not experience any or very minor symptoms.

Patient attendants try to maintain normalcy with residents by exercising in rooms or allowing video calls with family or caregivers.

In addition to residents, 29 employees have tested positive in the past few days. According to the union, which represents patient attendants, employees from other parts of the North Shore came to lend a hand to their colleagues.

Establishment management also had to resort to independent workers. Along with Baie-Comeau and Bergeronnes, Sept-Îles CHSLD is also fighting the spread of COVID-19 within its walls.
