The carrier announced Friday that it plans to offer affordable economy class options on Air Canada flights to Canada, the United States and Cancun.

More specifically, Air Canada expects to add 6,000 seats to flights between February 25 and March 19 on routes operated by LynxAir from Toronto and Montreal to Cancun, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa, Phoenix and Las Vegas.

“Capped” prices

This enhanced deal gives options to LynxAir passengers hoping to get home on the ultra-low-cost carrier, but their ticket may turn out to be more expensive than expected.

Air Canada explained to the QMI agency that it does not intend to offer the same pricing as Lynx.

“Prices vary, but our commitment is to keep them at a reasonable level by ensuring that there is no unusual increase associated with a significant increase in demand at the last minute,” said a door.-Company spokesman, Christophe Hennebelle.

On Thursday, LynxAir stunned the aviation world by announcing it was under creditor protection and would ground all of its flights as of Monday, leaving its passengers frustrated just weeks before the break.
