McDonald's location inside Wal-Mart in Mississauga temporarily closed due to COVID-19 case

McDonald’s Canada has announced that McDonald’s location in Mississauga has been temporarily closed after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

An employee from 100 City Center Drive Location tested positive for Kovid-19 on September 25, the company said in a statement.

The affected restaurant is located inside the Walmart supermarket of Square One.

“With great care, the certified third party decided to close the restaurant immediately for complete cleaning and sanitation,” McDonald’s Canada said in a statement.

“We are working hard to reopen safely; as far as we know, our guests rely on their local McDonald’s and we are committed to doing our part to help our communities.”

McDonald’s Canada said all workers in close contact with the employee sought self-restraint until more information was available.

The employee worked their last shift on September 20 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:35 p.m.

Diners who visit the restaurant on September 20 are encouraged to visit Public Health Ontario’s website.

McDonald’s said it was taking extra precautions in response to the epidemic, including the availability of hand sanitizer dispensers inside the restaurant, cleaning and sanitizing high-touch surfaces, installing floor markers to enable customers to practice physical distance, and limiting the ability of occupants to have the right PE.

“Maintaining the health and well-being of our staff and guests is our priority and we will continue to monitor and adapt actions where necessary.”
