For the first time in 85 years, the famous board game Monopoly is undergoing an update of its 16 “Kaisse Communion” cards to reflect today’s society.
There are no cards covering beauty contests or vacation funds and items like Hello “Shopping Local”, “Adopt a Puppy” or “Help Your Neighbors”.
The American company Hasbro decided to give a facelift to its famous board game to reflect the spirit of the real life community.
“The world has changed a lot since the monopoly became a household name 85 years ago, and today it is clear that society is more important than ever,” Eric Niemann said in a statement Thursday. Head of Customer Relations at Hasbro.
“We thought 2021 was the right time to give to the fans [du jeu] Society is an opportunity to show the world what it means to them, ”he added.
Fans of the transaction game are invited to vote on their new favorite cards on the MonopolyCommunityCheast.com website.
Once the vote is over, a new version will be available this fall.
