Monday, August 9, 2021 6:51 PM – NASA is recruiting candidates for a special mission intended to launch in the fall of 2022.
NASA is recruiting candidates for a one-year mission to Mars. Obviously, this is only a simulation. The mission is expected to begin in the fall of 2022. Its purpose is to study the motivation and behavior of the chosen, but also the foresight and solution of problems that may arise during a trip to the Red Planet.
Participants are required to stay in a home-sized residence called Mars Dune Alpha. It includes a kitchen, hospital, recreation and physical training room, offices and toilets. The mission must have many obstacles: lack of resources, broken equipment and delayed communications. Simulated space walks and scientific experiments with robots are on the program.
Eligible applicants
NASA examines applications from people with a master’s degree in science. In addition, candidates flew for at least 1000 hours. The U.S. Space Agency is looking for people between the ages of 30 and 55 who are non-smokers and in good health.
In total, three “similar” missions will take place between 2022 and 2025.
