The company went to OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, Oregon, to study those who work. They take into account the challenges of working people – including long hours in the legs and liquid spills – and the comfort needed for long shifts.
The company said health care workers in New York City and Los Angeles will also receive around 95,000 pairs of soccer socks that offer lightweight compression.
“This effort is led by a message of thanks to health professionals,” Nike said in its release. “From one athlete to another, Nike athletes recognize the physical and mental endurance of health care athletes.”
“Thank you very much for supporting our frontline health care heroes,” he wrote on Monday.
Hospitals across Europe – including Barcelona, Berlin, London, Milan, Paris and Belgium – will receive 2,500 additional pairs, Nike said.
Nike said several of his teams gathered to help create and donate full face shields and lenses for air purifier respirators (PAPR) to help protect health workers.
To date, the Nike and Nike Foundation have committed more than $ 25 million to Covid-19’s relief efforts, according to the company.
