Nike will donate 30,000 shoes to frontline workers fighting Covid-19

Nike said it is donating 30,000 of their Air Zoom Pulse to frontline health care workers.

Nike partnered with Bagus360, a non-profit organization specializing in the distribution of efficient product donations, to help ship shoes to workers in Chicago, Los Angeles, Memphis, and New York City, and within the Veterans Health Administration, according to Nike.

The company said health care workers in New York City and Los Angeles will also receive around 95,000 pairs of soccer socks that offer lightweight compression.

“This effort is led by a message of thanks to health professionals,” Nike said in its release. “From one athlete to another, Nike athletes recognize the physical and mental endurance of health care athletes.”

The Mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio tweeted his appreciation for sports apparel companies.

“Thank you very much for supporting our frontline health care heroes,” he wrote on Monday.

Hospitals across Europe – including Barcelona, ​​Berlin, London, Milan, Paris and Belgium – will receive 2,500 additional pairs, Nike said.

Nike’s donations come when healthcare workers continue to help fight the coronavirus pandemic, often putting themselves at risk. Many help patients without adequate supplies and equipment.
