Olivier Primo is working on a country festival for the Quebec region

The boss of Point-Columet Beach Club is working on a country festival in the Greater Quebec City area.

“Quebec is not over. It was delayed due to the epidemic, but we are working on projects, ”he replied Newspaper Oliver Primau, asked if he had plans for Capital-National.

In 2016, a Montreal businessman planned to install a makeshift mobile bar called Oasis on a site in Quebec.

The facility can accommodate 1,000 to 5,000 people. It targeted Beaufort Bay. However, this project never saw the light of day.

Strong demand

Mr Primau said he was currently considering different sites hosting his new country festival. He believes the style of music is growing in popularity and is not being used enough in Quebec.

To illustrate the craze over the country, tickets for the Luke Combs show, now scheduled for fall, have all flown in Quebec and Montreal.

“There is not enough country in Quebec,” he said. “I’m often asked that. I’m not a fan, but over the years I’m become a fan of events and festivals. We’ve been working on it,” he continued.

This new festival project is currently on its drawing board. The event can be held over two days over the weekend. However, no deadline has been set yet.

The beach club manager said he aims to hold the first shows of its kind by 2023 and wants to offer something different to the festival Western de Saint-Tight Festival, which has survived for decades.

“It’s not really complementary. I really want to do a music festival, where we only see performances,” he said.

The former advisor to TVA’s XOXO program is also responsible for the Metro Metro Urban Music Festival in Montreal.
