There are currently 78.3 active cases per 100,000 residents in the Eastern Townships.

The Boss-Saint-Laurent, Sagune-Lock-Saint-Jean, Autouis, C -te d’Ivoire and Nord-du-Quebec areas are doing better.

However, Capitol-National, Marisi-Center-du-Quebec, Chowders-Appalachians are doing a little better. Like Montreal, Laval, Laurentians and Lanadier, these are currently the four most affected areas.

“All our indicators have declined: the number of new cases, the prevalence, the positive rate of screening tests, the number of hospital admissions, the prevalence in care settings,” said Annie-Andre Omond, assistant CIUSSS de l’Estrie-CHUS at Human Resources, Information And Director of Legal Affairs.

However caution is still needed in the decisions to be announced on Tuesday evening.

“Many areas like ours are heading towards the Orange Zone, but there are still areas of clear red like Quebec and Montreal, Laval, Lanadier, Laurentians, Monterogy … The question is, how long do we need statistics to stay in the orange zone before we can make any easing? “Precautions are in order. The situation is fragile,” said Dr. Alain Poyer, director of public health in the eastern township.
