Quebec raises the salaries of thousands of childhood educators

Treasury Board Chairperson Sonia Label announced on Thursday that Quebec would temporarily increase the salaries of teachers working in early childhood centers (CPEs) and subsidized daycares.

Only educators who agree to work 40 hours a week will benefit the most. They get 17% from mid-November if they qualify or 14% more if they don’t.

Faculty members who work 32 hours a week – the most common case in the CPE network – will see their salary increase by 12% if they qualify or 9% if they do not.
