After sitting at the entrance to Montreal for several decades, the majestic 2,200-ton steel structure will be placed on two huge barges and pulled to the brossard against the current, which will be demolished in the spring.

“Although this type of work is occasional in the world, the operation of this scope has never been carried out in Canada,” said Fabrice Goodan, project director of the Novel Horizon Saint-Laurent (NHSL), in charge of the consortium. Reconstruction work, in a statement released Friday. “Especially in winter conditions and operational limitations like in this project,” Mr. Gwedon adds.

This phase of the project will require approximately fifty workers. Barges thirty meters below the river need between 6 and 24 hours to reduce spawn.
