The images show “multiple new armed equipment and troops deployed” from existing military sites in forests and fields 14 to 30 km from the Russia-Ukraine border. US satellite imagery company Maxar stated in an email.

These new photos, taken Sunday, show vehicle tracks lined with snow-covered fields, surrounded by forests and roads. You can also see many buildings.

Analysis of images taken on Sunday and February 13 indicates the movement of troops and equipment near three locations in southwestern Russia, according to the Colorado-based agency.

“Most combat units and auxiliary equipment in Soloti are out of the scene today and many vehicle tracks and convoy of some armed equipment can be seen throughout the area,” Maxer explained.

“Some of the equipment was also deployed in the field, 15 kilometers north of the Ukrainian border, east of the town near the valley in Russia.”

“In addition, numerous new deployments will also be seen on land northwest of Belgorod (approximately 30 km from the border with Ukraine), with most equipment and troops located in or near forested areas,” the US agency said.

“Other company-sized units are deployed in agricultural and / or industrial areas.”

In recent weeks, the United States and its Western allies have estimated that Russia has placed more than 150,000 troops near the Ukrainian border, raising fears in Washington about the impending invasion of Ukraine.

“40 to 50% (forces) are at the scene of the attack. They have been deployed in the strategic assembly for the past 48 hours, ”an American official told reporters Friday.

Moscow has rejected any attack plans, but Ukraine has assured that it will never join NATO and that Western powers will withdraw their forces from Eastern Europe, which has been rejected by the United States and its allies.
