SpaceX to launch the paid Dogcoin lunar mission

Billionaire Elon Musk’s SpaceX company announced on Sunday that it will launch a fully paid satellite to the moon next year with cryptocurrency dogcoin, led by Canada’s Geometric Energy Corporation lunar mission.

Called DOGE-1, the satellite will be launched on the SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket in the first quarter of 2022, the Calgary-based company said in a statement on Sunday.

The cubic-shaped, 40-kilogram satellite aims to “obtain lunar spatial information using on-board sensors and cameras.”

Elon Musk, a big believer in cryptocurrencies, described Dogcoin as “the unstoppable financial vehicle that can conquer the world” in a sketch on Saturday night, enthusiastically shouting “Towards the moon!”
