The new State of the Art Scale opens in I-10 in Texas

TRUCK STOP QUEBEC

The new facility, located in Seguin at Marker 620 of I-10 East, will be operational by Oct. 8, allowing state-of-the-art truck inspections in Texas.

The new checkpoint, designed by the Texas Department of Transportation, has a number of features to speed up inspections, including four lanes to park trucks prone to breaches and allow additional screening.

But that’s not all! The facility is equipped with millions of dollars of technology that can detect in real time whether a commercial vehicle is compliant with the law using sensors and detectors for weight-movement, high-altitude. Hazardous materials and carrier identification placards. The sensors provide information on the history of violations and into a computer database that detects whether the vehicle is subject to the Federal Decay Order. Thermal imaging sequence examines the brakes for irregularities such as the truck’s wheels and faulty brakes.

The new station also has a pit that makes it easier for inspectors to inspect the brakes and other items under the truck. The 90-foot platform scale – the only one in the state – allows inspectors to weigh all equipment at once.
