Tim Tebo has retired from professional baseball

The New York Mets announced Wednesday that outfielder Tim Tebo is retiring from major league baseball.

The former NFL quarterback, who played with the Denver Broncos (2010-2011) and the New York Jets (2012), decided to move on to major baseball in 2016. He later signed a minor league deal with the Mets.

“Tim is very happy to be in our organization. He has shown so much skill in his four years with the Mets,” team president Sandy Alderson said in a statement.

“By hitting a triple in 2019 he surpassed the expectations we had when he entered the system in 2016. He should be really proud of the achievements he has made.”

Tebo, 33, played his last season in 2019 with the Syracuse Mets at the New York Institute. Left Season Laser He appeared in 77 games before the end of his season.
