The 12-17-year-olds will not be able to advance their appointment for a second-dose vaccine against COVID-19 over an eight-week period, Health Minister Christian Dubey said Tuesday.

In a post on Twitter, the minister said he was waiting for “an opinion from public health to coordinate a break of 4 weeks and more”.
The current public health recommendation for young people aged 12 to 17 is an interval of eight weeks or more.
From Tuesday, Quebeckers over the age of 17 can advance their appointment to receive their second dose only after the first four weeks.
Prior to this change, first-time vaccinators had to wait eight weeks before receiving a second dose of the vaccine.
