Voter Guide: Tough fights to follow throughout Quebec

On election nights, you sometimes have to wait until dawn to find out the winners in some constituencies, because the vote there is so strong. Three-way fights, candidates with unexpected results, ending twists to the campaign, anything is possible in politics. We present to you seven Quebec rides that have not been played.

Second trial …

We look forward to a three-way fight once again at Trois-Rivieres Riding. In 2019, the former mayor of the Black Cubacois Louis Charbonnie Trois-Riviers provoked awe by defeating the Liberal candidate along with the traditional banner. Lévesque returns to charge this year, but not M^{To me} Charbonno. He faces a well-known Liberal candidate, the novelist Martin Francier, a former editorial writer. Atheist Rene Willemur wore the colors of black.

Hochelaga

Will she repeat her feat?

Montreal Liberal MP Soraya Martinez Ferrara was surprised to see his party make progress in Hochelaga in 2019. She defeated Black Simon Marchand, who is running again this year, by a majority of 328 votes. Can she keep her seat? The two candidates have very similar positions on local issues, especially as opposed to the transshipment platform for Ray-Mont Logistics Company marine containers.

Shefford

Changing winds

The fortified castle of the late Jean Lapierre, all parties have won Shefford constituencies since the late 1990s. In the last election, in 2019, the Black Quebokoys defeated the Liberal MP, Pierre Breton, by 898 votes by Andrian Larou. The two are fighting again. Prior to the campaign, voting projection sites such as Qc125 gave the Liberal candidate the upper hand, but due to his party’s general upturn, the tide may turn for the Black candidate.

High pressure

Liberal Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, a two-time member of the Quebec Riding Committee, has struggled every time to gain the support of his constituents. In 2015, he received a 1,000-vote majority against his NDP rival, Anik Papillon, and in 2019, his lead narrowed to 325 votes, this time over Black Christian Gagnan. In the wake of the difficult end to the Justin Trudeau campaign, the pressure on his shoulders is strong.

Chicoutimi-Le Fjord

Well known enemy

On the eve of the 2019 election, conservative Richard Martel had to wait before he could be re-elected in Chikoutimi – Le Ford. The former hockey coach won by 834 votes. This election should not be different from the previous election. This time, Mr. Martel confronts Julie Bouchard, a Black Cubacoi man who is a respected and well-known figure in the area, as a nursing assistant, who identifies herself through her adventurous positions during her epidemic.

Sherbrook

The new three-way fight?

Elizabeth Brere, the outgoing Liberal MP for Sherbrook, was elected in Canada in 2019 with the lowest percentage of votes at 29.3%, so there is a three-way battle. Once again a fierce battle ensued at the ballot box. The star of the NDP, however, turned pale in Sherbrook as the acclaimed Pierre-Luke Dassault did not refer to himself. This election is unique in that it only counts women candidates, including the wife of Saudi activist Raif Badawi Ensaf Haider.

Gaspace – Magdalene Islands

The confrontation is repeated

History is repeating itself on Gaspace-Les Eles-de-La-Madeleine, where MP Diane LeBautilier will face a black rival who gave her a hard time in 2019.^{To me} LeBouthillier received a majority of 637 votes over Guy Bernatchez, mayor of Saint-Maxim-du-Mont-Louis. A recent revelation about Mr.^{To me} LeBautilier’s adaptation of a local attorney to a federal judge’s position is detrimental to her.
