The man with Alzheimer’s forgot that he was married and asked his wife again after falling in love with her again.
Peter Marshall, 56, made a big request to Lisa Marshall one evening in December 2020, as the two sat glued to the bed, not realizing they had already been united for 11 years, CNN reported.
Ever since he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease three years ago, Peter Marshall has lost his memory or forgotten that he was married.
Despite the memories he has lost, his love for his wife has not faded.
“He is very kind, caring, loving, funny and romantic. He is always passionate about our relationship and me,” Lisa Marshall told CNN.
When her husband proposed to her, the woman agreed, because she did not want to miss the opportunity to make romantic memories with those she loved.
“It simply came to our notice then. He fell in love with me twice. I feel honored. I feel like a princess like Cinderella. I am the luckiest girl in the world, ”said the bride.
So the couple chose to restore their standards at a spiritual family celebration in April and with the help of dementia experts.
“Peter has been awake all day. He was very happy. When it came time to say his vows, he said to me: “Lisa, I love you”. That’s all I want, “said Lisa Marshall.
The latter adds that she is happy that they can “stay together until the end”. There is nothing to separate us ”.
