A worker with a heart of gold spends her last moments

A worker at the DPJ, then a public relations officer at youth centers, Jocelyn Boudreault was living her last moments.

A month ago, it was known that she was suffering from serious illness. “It’s lung cancer with brain metastases,” she said in an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

A few weeks ago his condition began to deteriorate. She asked for sick leave as she was very tired and had a heart attack. The diagnosis came later.

“I always had the feeling that I would not live to old age. It’s strange, isn’t it?” she said.

Thanks to her, TVA Novelles was able to broadcast many reports on young children in need, mainly in youth centers during the holiday season. She convinced her superiors to open the doors to journalists.

And even though life seems to be beating her up, Ms. Boudreault is getting married on September 24 before her departure. She was ready for this moment.

“I’m not stretching the sauce. I don’t want to put my family in this situation. […] I had a really good life. I have two wonderful children. I have had a great career. I have a wonderful circle of friends”, she adds serenely.

Ms. Boudreault worked behind the scenes for most of her career, but her colleagues were unanimous: she did a great deal for children and teenagers who were less pampered than others.

“For 20 years, the cause was attached to his body. And she gave everything,” explained Jean-Nicolas Aube, one of Jocelyn’s former teammates.

Throughout her career, she has made children her priority and she continues to do so.

“What I ask is: Help the responders by supporting the foundation. Help them help our most vulnerable children and young people.
