But recently, one of singer Axl Rose’s signature gestures took a toll on an Australian fan’s face.

Rose, 60, ended all her shows by throwing her microphone into the crowd. But this time Rebecca Howe took it in the face.

Both eyes were swollen and black, the Australian told her version of the facts in an interview with local media.

“What would have happened if he had fallen a few inches further to the right or to the left? I might have lost my eye,” said the woman, still shaken. “And if it falls on my mouth, I’ll lose my teeth!”

She even goes so far as to say that she would die if she touched the microphone on her temple.

After fan outings, Axel Rose said on Twitter that he would no longer end his shows with a mic toss, criticizing the “negative and irresponsible” way the media had covered the incident.

“Unfortunately, there are those who, for their own reasons, choose to focus their journalism in a negative and irresponsible way. We hope our audience will understand that,” he said.

We want to end this text by reminding you that it is never a good idea to throw heavy objects at a crowd of people, even if you have been doing it for 30 years.
