A new showcase for emerging fashion

A new festival dedicated to emerging fashion should break ground in Montreal next year. While waiting for that to happen, young fashion collective Fashion Freaks is hosting an event on August 14 that will include pop-up shops, fashion shows and DJ performances.

After two such events held last year, the collective founded in 2021, SmartCenters presents the third taste of its futuristic festival in a room in a Montreal shopping center (Décarie). Thirty brands, mainly fashion designers, will be present street wearSporty and apparel from upcycling.

The collective wants to create a new intersection between fashion, art and music. “We see a growing need for an exhibition space for young designers who are unfortunately not invited to participate in other popular fashion festivals in Montreal,” says Lena Le Guen, a graduate in fashion marketing from the school. Fashion graduate from UQAM and co-founder of Fashion Freaks.

Each designer will present their creative universe during the fashion show to the sound of Montreal DJs Andrea de Tour and Mandiz.

August 14, 12pm to 8pm, at 5475, rue des Jacquies, Montreal. Pre-sale tickets cost $10.
