Alexis Lafrenier advanced to the New York Rangers No. 1 pick

Defenseman Kaiden Guhle was selected 16th in the Montreal Canadians 2020 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old from Sherwood Park in Alta scored 11 goals and added 29 assists for 64 games with his third year junior hockey player in 2019-20 with Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League.


Maple Leafs takes Amirov in 15th place

Toronto Maple Leafs have selected left winger Rodion Amirov with a total of 15 selections in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

The 19-year-old has three goals and two assists in more than 10 games at KHL this season.


Oilers Draft Holloway is ranked 14th

Center Dylan Holloway was selected as the 14th overall pick in the Edmonton Oilers 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

The 19-year-old scored eight goals and added nine assists in more than 35 games for the University of Wisconsin last season.


Perfetti goes to 10th place Jets

Winnipeg Jets selected center Cole Perfetti with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old scored 37 goals and added 74 assists to 61 games last season with OHL’s Saginaw Spirit.


Sense draft Stuttgel with 3rd choice, Sanderson with 5th

Ottawa senators selected left winger Tim Stuttgall with a third overall pick and defenseman Jake Sanderson with a fifth overall pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old Stuttgill has scored seven goals and added 27 assists in over 41 games with the Mannheim Eagles in Germany this past season.

The 18-year-old Sanderson has two goals and 12 assists in over 19 games for the United States Under-18 team in 2019-20.

Ottawa, who finished 28th in the first round, still have one pick.


The Kings overall secondfield is second

Sudbury Wolves center Quinton Bifield took second place in the Los Angeles Kings 2020 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old from Newmarket, Camel scored 32 goals and 50 assists in over 45 games with the Wolves in 2019-20, his second and final year at the OHL.

Bifield helped Canada win gold at the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic.


The Rangers will pick Lafrenier ahead with the No. 1 pick

No one was surprised by the choice of Alexis Lafrenier ahead of the New York Rangers with a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft.

The 18-year-old left-winger from Saint-Eustach, Quebec, scored 35 goals and added 77 assists in 52 games, his third and final season in junior hockey in 2019-20 with Rimowski Oceanic of QMJHL.

Lafrenier helped Canada win gold at the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic.
