Anti-Semitic graffiti on placards of Jewish MPs

Placards of two Jewish federal MPs with a swastika symbol were written in Montreal on Tuesday.

Posters of Father Anthony House elected for the Liberal Party of Canada at Mount Royal and posters of her elected Liberal colleague Rachel Bendon at Outremont.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he was “disgusted and angry that Rachel Bendon and Anthony Houseford had destroyed the signs with anti-Semitic graffiti”.

“This is not just acceptable. I stand with Rachel, Anthony and the Jewish community in the fight against this kind of hatred,” he said on Twitter.

For Mr. House‌father, “It is a great shame to see that anti-Semitism has already infiltrated the countryside on the third day”.

“Although I am deeply disappointed to see my poster defaced with a swastika, I will continue to be a strong supporter of the Jewish community and nothing will stop me, certainly not,” he said in a message posted on his Facebook page.
