At least seven people have been killed in a Chinese sword attack

A man was stabbed to death and seven others were injured Sunday in a small town in northeastern China, state media said, for unknown reasons.

The play took place on the streets of Kaiyuan in Liaoning Province on Sunday morning, the China New News Agency reported.

The assailant was found dead and seven others were injured in what appeared to be an “indiscriminate attack” and was later arrested by police outside the bathhouse under the same bath.

The Kaiyuan Public Security Bureau said in a statement posted on the Weibo social network that an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy.

Sword attacks are not uncommon in China, due to the lack of other means of killing in a country where civilians are not allowed to carry guns.

People who think of themselves as victims of injustice and want revenge on society are regularly blindsided.

In February 2019, a man suspected of committing adultery with his wife stabbed eight people to death and wounded seven others in a village in northwestern Gansu province.

In April 2018, one man injured nine college students as they left their school in Shanxi Province (north). The 28-year-old retaliated after he molested a student at the same college.
