Challenger 3500 | Order to end the year from Bombardier

Bombardier is boosting its order book before the end of the year by selling 12 copies of the Challenger 3500, a private jet assembled at its Montreal facilities.

Announced on Friday, the deal is valued at 326 million US (436 million CAN) at displayed prices. Consumers can usually get discounts when buying multiple devices. The buyer's identity was not disclosed.

“This order clearly demonstrates that this platform (Challenger 3500) delivers the exceptional experience customers desire,” Bombardier President and CEO Eric Martel said in a press release.

In the third quarter ended Sept. 30, the Quebec aircraft maker posted a ratio of new contracts to deliveries of 1.1. That means the company will deliver as many devices as it receives orders.

Its order book value is estimated at 14.7 billion US dollars.

Bombardier Class B stock closed up 16 cents, or 0.3%, at $52.23 on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Friday. Since the beginning of the year, the stock has fallen 1.15%.
