Davy Shipyard: Workers approve historic deal

Members of the Lazon Shipyard Workers’ Union have adopted a “historic” temporary agreement to renew their collective agreement.

The new collective agreement, which runs until June 30, 2030, offers a salary increase of up to 30.5% for the first two years, and an annual increase of 2.5%.

Under the terms of the contract, the doubling time is resumed and the end of the leave is paid in full, but the calculation of continuous service is from the rental date rather than from the rental date.

“The impeccable mobilization of members and their failed support helped us to achieve our goals and get a major salary catch-up,” union president Jean Blanchett said in a press release Wednesday.

“This is an important step and today is a historic agreement that will allow Davy’s artisans to look to the future with optimism,” said Barbara Poyer, president of the Central Council of Quebec-Chowder-Appalachians (CSN). .
