Deer slaughter in Langueil: Meeting on Tuesday

It was revealed that a virtual meeting will take place on Tuesday between Lawyer, Mi Anne-France Goldwater, deer rescuers and Mayor Catherine Fornier, while a new demonstration against deer slaughter is taking place on Sunday in Michel-Chartrand Park in Langueil.

Sixty or more protesters at the rally welcomed the news with some relief.

Mr. Goldwater, who is also attending a virtual meeting, hopes to change his mind about the mayor of Longueil.

“Instead of throwing $ 325,000 in the trash, there are other options available to taxpayers that cost nothing,” the lawyer announced in an interview with TVA Novelles.

“If we kill 65 deer this year, we will have to repeat the exercise year after year because the herd size will continue to grow and we will turn this park into a slaughterhouse,” she added.

In addition, Catherine Fournier told TVA Nouvelles that at the moment, no date has been set for the killing of deer, but that it should take place by the end of February.
