The flight is scheduled to depart Toronto Airport (YYZ) at 4:25pm on Saturday, arriving in Tel Aviv at 9:55am local time the following day.

On the website, the company explained, “The flight was canceled due to governmental or regulatory restrictions beyond our control.”

“Government or regulatory restrictions may arise when there are changes in entry requirements, customs procedures, health and safety measures or other local political conditions,” Air Canada explained.

The company announced that it has implemented a “flexible” reservation postponement policy for customers.

“We will continue to monitor the situation in the region and adjust our schedule accordingly,” Air Canada said when questioned by the QMI agency.

Air Canada operates four non-stop return flights per week between Toronto and Tel Aviv (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

The announcement comes days after the company decided to resume its flights after a 6-month shutdown.

Following the drone attack, Israel closed its airspace, particularly over Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan.
