Regine Laurent had a special thought for healthcare workers as she listened to Minister Girard’s economic update.
“When Minister Girard listened, I said to myself: ‘Oh the guardian angels are angry’,” the former FIQ president stated.
The minister assured his colleague Sonia Lebel that inflation would be below 13% in the next five years.
Remember that the government’s latest offer to Common Front employees is certainly above Minister Girard’s inflationary expectations.
“Union members are angry like I have rarely seen. Sorry for the expression, but I think the union members need to slap the government,” she decried.
Discontent among union members started when the government presented its first proposal a few months ago.
“The 9% offer over five years is a serious flaw to start post-pandemic negotiations and we will add a 30% increase to the deputies. These negotiations are sure to become difficult. Unions are showing their anger,” she stressed.
