A TikTok video has gone viral in which user “gencomtois” explains that he won the 2023 Monopoly prize and quickly went from joy to bitter disappointment.
The video, titled “Maybe I should play the lottery now,” has been viewed more than 500,000 times in two days.
In her video, Jen shares her experience with the McDonald’s Monopoly game.

“I won 2023 McDonald’s Monopoly this year. You are probably wondering how much I earn. Hmm… that’s a lot! I’ll show you the check. How many zeros,” she quips.
Jen then revealed the check for 20 US dollars ($27 CAN) and said, “This is going to change my life guys. In this economy, $20…can probably buy me an apple.”

Internet users did not hesitate to express their displeasure.
“And the rich are getting richer.”
“It’s not a full meal with tax at McDonald’s haha.”
The McDonald’s Monopoly game is a popular promotion for the fast food chain, offering a range of prizes from food items like McFlurries to fridge magnets and bean bag chairs.
