PQ hopes to see this as a “sign of trend change.

In the first quarter of 2021, PQ raised 8,000 to 118,000. This is 50% more than the Coalition d’Venir Quebec (CAQ), $ 83,755. Quebec Solidair (QS) brings 000 64,000 and the Liberal Party of Quebec (PLQ) rear, 3 30,325.

In terms of number of contributors, PQ ends up with 1,424 donors, as opposed to 917 for CAQ.

According to PQ leader Paul Saint-Pierre Plamondon, a quarter of these donors are new donors.

In an interview with The Canadian Press, he said he was happy with the financial results, having been elected head of training in October just six months ago.

“This can be explained by the start of a new cycle, a definite turn towards the independence project. In the news, we see a return to the legitimacy of the independence issue in the open.”

He also went to see other encouraging signs that could translate into votes in the 2022 election.

“Historically, changes in funding trends have been precursors to changes in voting intentions. It will be interesting to see if we continue at this pace.”

What is their demographic profile whether the donors are first time subscribers or ordinary people? “We are not yet in our analysis.”

PQ has about 40,000 members. This is much higher than other parties, but political activism, more than the 80,000 or 100,000 already in the 70s, 80s, 90s.

“We dream of selling more cards, but everywhere in the West, party membership is in a free fall,” St. Pierre Plamondon said. Can we stand against this trend? ”
